Hans Larsson was born to a relatively average Swedish family. His parents looked after their son as well as his younger brother, Bjorn, who is two years his junior. Hans' father, Lukas and his mother, Astrid, work as tree surgeons in the local forest close to their home. Being an active outdoors family Hans was soon climbing trees at the age of seven or eight, not being afraid of heights at all. His younger brother, Bjorn, didn't like heights but did like getting into trouble with his older brother, often acting the rebel of the family. Usually, by becoming boisterous and getting into playfights with his older brother. As Hans progressed through school his parents noticed that their oldest son loved water and sports, especially swimming, so they encouraged this.
Up until the age of fifteen, Hans wanted to be a swimming instructor but then wondered about following in his parents' footsteps and taking up tree surgery. In the end he took on a building apprenticeship since this was also something he was interested in. Hans' other main passion was music. All his friends were heavily into Euro rock and this started him off collected various vinyls and listening to the guitar riffs every time.
Something spark off inside of him as he then wanted to learn the guitar. This was a slight surprise to his parents who always thought Hans wanted to be a man of nature and of the water. Still, they encouraged their oldest son and bought him a guitar on his seventeenth birthday. He started learning at home but then began lessons at music school. It was at music school that Hans met Hunter and they began a friendship that would last into the years.
